Manifesting Our Dreams

by Rusty Stewart, Ph.D.

How do we manifest our dreams? I've been told it is of little relevance. According to the movie “The Secret” and the law of attraction, in order to manifest my dreams all I have to do is visualize what I want on a regular basis, feel the emotion as if it has already happened, see myself in the vision in the first person, and leave the rest to the universe. Now, this requires I put myself out there and take risk. The how's will show up in ways I am not aware of right now. This is where we have to trust the universe and let go of the outcome. I am probably oversimplifying this, so I recommend you buy the DVD for yourself and watch it over and over again until it permeates your being. I know that's what I will do. So the rest of the focus in this article is about unveiling my dream, having you witness it, asking for what I want, and inviting people to participate and hop on for the ride of your life! Modeling is the best method of teaching.

On Sunday October 15, 2006 I will be facilitating a brainstorming meeting on planning Personal Growth Alternatives: A Healing And Community Spiritual Center. This will be a freestanding sacred space where safe and intense healing can occur. Anybody is invited to this meeting. The only prerequisites are a willingness to offer your input, help, listen, or be an interested practitioner. It doesn't matter what type of practitioner you are. I am open to listening to everyone. Listening is the best method of learning. This is a community effort. The only way we manifest community is by listening to what people want. The first step is to create a dialogue with like-minded people. The center is for anyone, but it will take like-minded people to work together toward a committed vision and mission.

I am currently thinking of the center being a combination of profit and non-profit. I don't specifically know what that would look like yet but given our state of economic complexities, having both entities may be the most flexible way to go especially if the non-profit sector happens to be partially or fully grant funded. All options are being left open until more clarity of possibilities is explored. If any of you have experience in the non-profit/profit arena your input would be greatly appreciated.

My intention is to find a core group of people (3-5), to create and manifest the beginnings of a healing center under the umbrella of Personal Growth Alternatives in the Main Line or South Jersey area. Presently that area is pretty broad. There is also the possibility that this may manifest somewhere else in the Philadelphia area. Lately I have been getting visions of it happening in NJ. As more people share their ideas and intentions with me, it will become clearer where to look for space. I'm not tied to any area as of yet. Much of the rest of this year will be fact-finding and brainstorming, with the intent of moving into a space in 2007. I hope to have a more detailed position paper for review by the October Newsletter. However, this position paper is only a sketch to begin the process. I am welcoming all interested practitioners for an open dialogue until a core group organically manifests itself. Commitment of vision and purpose is of paramount importance. We are not just sharing space and I am not a landlord renting space out. So this is an intimate process of getting to know one another.

Once again, this is a community-oriented project. The goal is to start off small and grow the center through the needs of the holistic community. The core group should be able to work together in healing clients through emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and energetic approaches. We will truly focus on mind, body, and spirit. More specifically I am looking for holistic practitioners in the following categories: chiropractors, psychologists, psychiatrists, naturopaths, homeopaths, holistic MD's or DO's psychotherapists, nutritionalists, spiritual healers, energy workers, acupuncturists, coaches, addiction counselors, etc. This is by no means an exhaustive list. All are welcome for consideration. There will be a group that manifests itself when the time is right. The how's will follow once we truly commit ourselves to a common vision and mission. Then we will do manifestation work together and turn it over to the universe for incubation and birth.

So please come one and come all! Manifesting my dream may complement your dream. Let's explore possibilities together. I need to hear from as many people as possible. All voices are important! Contact me and let me know if you are interested 215-658-1093, 609-332-4663, rusty@personalgrowthalternatives.com. Read my website if you are not familiar with who I am, www.personalgrowthalternatives.com. I'm sending this invitation out ten weeks ahead of time so you can mark your calendars and plan to attend. A specific time on Sunday October 15 and location for the meeting will be forthcoming in the September Newsletter. I look forward to sharing our dreams and ideas with one another!

Peace and Light,

Rusty Stewart, Ph.D.
