ArticlesAre You Over Committed Or Under Committed?
By Rusty Stewart, Ph.D.. This poses a rather ominous challenge. How do we be in the world, but not of the world? Commitment to ourselves demands that we have to do what’s for our highest good and trust that all will be well. This is not as easy as it seems and frequently things are not as they seem. It takes a higher level of awareness to discern the real meaning of events in our lives and when to take action and when to let go. The only way we can increase this level of discernment is to spend time in stillness and do our unconscious release work. This allows our minds to slow down and identify opportunities that would not be visible in our lower consciousness states. In order to practice true commitment to ourselves, we have to engage in some type of stillness practice. We need to participate in our own personal growth process that helps us release our unconscious barriers. This enables us to be in a more mindful conscious state. It is only then that we can practice true commitment to ourselves because we will not be able to practice putting ourselves first till we put ourselves first. Now this may sound repetitive, however, this is a crucial distinction we need to make about ourselves. At this point, many people wonder how to motivate themselves to do all this. The answer is simple but not necessarily what we want to hear. Just do it! If any of us are having trouble with that then we are not ready to embrace true change in our lives. We truly cannot have what we really want until we are willing to give up what we currently have. That does not mean that everything will disappear but some things will have to if we really want the things we say we do. Our current paradigm structure will not support the change that we are seeking. This is where letting go is critical. We must let ourselves die in order to be born anew! Once we are practicing our stillness discipline and doing our growth work regularly, we will find that our awareness and discernment will become enhanced. This will prompt us to make self-full decisions that will benefit both ourselves, and those we interact with in our lives. At this point we can start to create balance in all areas of our lives. But we must put ourselves first! It all starts from within. We cannot be committed to ourselves by putting other things and other people first. It starts with us! It ends with us! If you really want to learn and experience what true commitment is, take one of James Ray’s workshops. He pulls no punches and lets you know what the “real deal” is! Check out his website at www.jamesray.com. Caution: James workshops are for those that are truly committed to themselves and are sick and tired of getting the same results in their lives. He has the tools to teach you, that when applied regularly will transform your life. In closing make no mistake about it; if you are overcommitted you are
under committed. No judgment, just an observation. We always have the
freedom to choose again moment by moment. Sometimes we just are not ready
for true transformational change. It takes repetition, endurance, and
personal commitment. It does not happen overnight. But it does not have
to take a lifetime. Are you coachable? Are you ready to let go of the
cookie so you can get your hand out of the jar? If so, start a regular
stillness practice now and engage in meaningful and regular personal growth
that includes releasing unconscious material. I promise if you stick with
it your life will never be the same. If you want the fast track get to
a James Ray event. You deserve to be first! Let go and expand your possibilities
at the edge of chaos and fly!
